Hūmen vs. Oslo Skin Lab

The same VERISOL®, almost nine times as expensive

VERISOL® is a registered ingredient brand from GELITA: type 1 collagen peptides from beef. It is on the packaging of The Solution™ and it is on the jar of Hūmen Beef Collagen. It is the same raw material, from the same producer.

That makes this comparison unusually clean. With most collagen supplements you end up comparing apples and oranges, because the source, the type and the peptide size differ. Not here. What is left is the difference in price, packaging and sales model.

Oslo Skin Lab bases its communication on research in which 2.5 grams of VERISOL® a day was used, and that is exactly the amount in one sachet. Would you like to stick to that same 2.5 grams a day? You can do that with Hūmen too. One 300-gram jar then lasts 120 days, two jars 240 days. That is eight months of VERISOL® for €44,90, against €401,40 at Oslo Skin Lab with the member discount.

Why price per gram is the honest figure

A price per jar or per box says very little, because the packs differ enormously in contents: 300 grams against 70 grams. A price per day says little either, because the brands recommend a different daily dose. What can be compared is what you pay per gram of collagen.

• Hūmen, two jars for €44,90: 600 grams, so €0,07 per gram.
• Hūmen, a single jar at €44,90 plus €5,95 shipping: 300 grams, so €0,17 per gram.
• Oslo Skin Lab with the member discount, €46,83: 70 grams, so €0,67 per gram.
• Oslo Skin Lab ordered one-off, €66,90 plus €4,95 shipping: 70 grams, so €1,03 per gram.

Between the cheapest option at Hūmen and the cheapest option at Oslo Skin Lab there is a factor of nine. Compare with a one-off order at Oslo Skin Lab and it becomes almost a factor of fourteen.

A subscription, or simply buying a jar

At Oslo Skin Lab the discount is tied to the membership. Choose a one-off order and you pay €66,90 plus €4,95 shipping and get no discount. Choose the membership and you automatically receive a new box every four weeks, until you say you want to stop.

According to Oslo Skin Lab's own customer service page, cancelling or pausing is done by calling or emailing customer service, on working days between 8.30 and 16.30. There is no button in your account to arrange it yourself. Oslo Skin Lab also states that it has a telemarketing agency call from the numbers 020 211 03 60 through 020 211 03 69.

At Hūmen that whole model does not exist. You buy a jar, or two. Nothing arrives automatically, there is nothing to cancel and nobody calls.

One jar against 240 sachets

Oslo Skin Lab packs every daily dose separately in a sachet. For 600 grams of collagen that is 240 sachets, spread over nine boxes and nine separate shipments. At Hūmen the same 600 grams are two jars in one parcel.

Oslo Skin Lab points out that difference itself. In its own FAQ about the Refill version, the brand writes that a pack with less packaging material and fewer shipments is "cheaper and more environmentally friendly". That is exactly the argument for a jar.

The Hūmen jar is made from recycled material and lasts 60 to 120 days, depending on your dose. A sachet lasts one day and is made of a laminated foil that in practice is not collected separately.

Shipping costs

While the buy-one-get-one-free offer runs, Hūmen ships every order of two jars or more free of charge, whatever the amount and whatever the country. A single jar costs €5,95 shipping within the Netherlands. That leads to something striking: one jar costs €50,85 all in, two jars cost €44,90. So two jars are cheaper than one.

At Oslo Skin Lab shipping is free for members. Order one-off and you pay €4,95 per shipment. Outside the Netherlands Oslo Skin Lab charges €5 shipping per shipment.

Where Oslo Skin Lab is stronger

An honest comparison names the other side too.

• The convenience of a sachet. No scoop, no measuring, easy to take with you. If you are often on the road, that is a real advantage.
• Automatic delivery. You never run out and you don't have to think about it. For anyone who finds a routine hard to keep up, that works.
• A wider range. Oslo Skin Lab also sells serums, creams, masks and other supplements. Hūmen sells collagen only.
• Name recognition. Oslo Skin Lab advertises on television and says it has more than 130,000 members.

What you pay for that is set out above. Whether that convenience is worth €356 per 600 grams is a judgement you make yourself.

Switching from Oslo Skin Lab to Hūmen

• Want to keep the same dose? Take half a level tablespoon a day, about 2.5 grams. A jar then lasts 120 days.
• Want to follow the Hūmen build-up phase? Take 10 grams a day for twelve weeks, then 5 grams to maintain it.
• Prefer not to use beef? Choose Fish Collagen (Sea) with NATICOL®, type 1 collagen peptides from fish, at the same price. Combining is fine: within the offer you can take two Earth, two Sea or one of each.
• Still have a subscription running? Cancel that with Oslo Skin Lab customer service first. Do it yourself and directly, because commercial cancellation services charge for something that is free.

Does Hūmen contain the same collagen as Oslo Skin Lab?

Hūmen Beef Collagen and The Solution™ from Oslo Skin Lab both contain VERISOL®, type 1 hydrolysed collagen peptides from beef. Both brands state this on their own product page. Hūmen also sells Fish Collagen with NATICOL®, type 1 collagen peptides from fish.

What does Oslo Skin Lab cost per month?

A box of 28 sachets costs €66,90. With a membership you pay 30% less, so €46,83 per four weeks, shipping included. Order one-off without a membership and €4,95 shipping is added, so you pay €71,85. Prices checked on 11 September 2026.

Is Hūmen cheaper than Oslo Skin Lab?

Per gram of collagen, yes. At Hūmen you pay €0,07 per gram during the buy-one-get-one-free offer, at Oslo Skin Lab €0,67 per gram with the member discount and €1,03 per gram for a one-off order. For 600 grams of collagen that is €44,90 against €401,40 or €615,86.

Do I need a subscription at Hūmen?

No. Hūmen does not work with subscriptions or automatic repeat deliveries. You buy a jar when you need one. So there is nothing to cancel either.

How do I cancel my Oslo Skin Lab membership?
